AlMultaqa Chamber Orchestra makes its European debut with a powerful celebration of Sudan's rich musical heritage and its enduring cultural connections across Africa and the Arab world. Rooted in the distinctive Sudanese pentatonic scale, the ensemble brings together internationally acclaimed musicians from Sudan, Iraq, Mali, Nigeria, and South Sudan, creating a vibrant orchestral experience inspired by centuries of cultural exchange throughout the Nile Valley and beyond.

A Contemporary Afro-Arab Orchestra Led by Maestro Ahmad Shamma

Under the direction of Maestro Ahmad Shamma, the orchestra presents a contemporary Afro-Arab orchestral sound where African rhythms blend seamlessly with expressive Arab melodies. Traditional instruments including the oud, kora, balafon, adungu, traditional drums, and Afro-percussions come together to create a unique musical language that is deeply rooted in Sudanese tradition while embracing pan-African influences and global musical expression.
